Easy Remember - iOS App
Easy Remember Case Study
iOS App Available on the iOS App Store
Anyone who has ever learned anything to a level of zero to mastery understands that learning anything of value is extremely hard work. Learning a language, learning music theory, learning how to program; all these skills take a tremendous amount of upfront effort. The goal of Easy Remember was to reduce the exertion necessary to learn new skills.
To begin with, we looked at learning languages. Not just language learning apps, but the actual process of learning a language. What all was involved? What methods were most effective? What methods were least effective? After we were able to understand how to most effectively learn a language, we took what we had learned and began development.
What we found is that reading is one of the best ways to learn a language, and honestly, reading is one of the best ways to learn anything. For the information to make it to your long term memory though, repetition is essential. Therefore, we decided what we would do is incorporate a reading feature that with just two taps allows you to translate text and create cards that would be sent to you as push notifications throughout the day. And these push notifications are continually sent to you until you feel you have mastered the content of the card. The result?
Easy Remember significantly increases retention rate. We have personally seen significant increases in the speed of which we learn, specifically when dealing with languages.
Graffiti Travel Maps
iOS App Available on the iOS App Store
The idea was simple, allow people to have a very easy way to share locations with friends, family, and anyone else whose interested in going to the places that you like to go to. But the issue was that there had never been a way to do this simply. All the platforms out there were overly complicated or did not have a social feel. How did we turn this idea into a successful app?
We started by doing over 100 hours of research and looking at over 20 different apps before we finally were able to decipher what exactly we needed to do to make this idea come to fruition. A few of the apps that we paid close attention to for inspiration and direction were Pinterest and Instagram, due to the fact that they were both able to take what in the past were difficult tasks, (sharing images and hobbies) and creating a seamless and simple way to perform these tasks. Instagram made an interesting comment in that their goal was to “allow a user to share an image in 3 clicks” We made and accomplished the same goal by “allowing a user to share a location in 3 taps of the screen” How did we do this?
One thing that we think it’s very important to share with Graffiti is the fact that it all started from an abstract idea or a concept as opposed to something concrete. By that I mean, all we had to go on was, “We want to create an easy way for people to share places.” We mention this because most people who want to build an app, like yourself, have an idea or concept but not necessarily an idea of what the actual product will be, look like, or even do necessarily. We can help you take even the most abstract concepts and turn it into a successful app.
PMU Forms Case Study
iOS, and Web App
The Permanent Makeup industry is somewhat new and because of this there aren’t a lot of technical tools for business owners and clients. One of the issues.
That arose was that of managing all the forms necessary to be filled out by a business owner’s numerous clients. Many artists were feeling overwhelmed and having a hard time handling the onslaught of forms filled out by their clients.
We built a web-platform and iOS app enabling PMU owners to easily track and manage client forms as well as to manage client information within the app.
Sales Management Calculator Case Study
iOS App
Creating a calculator is pretty straight forward, but it was important that this calculator not just function, it needed to be elegant, sleek, and simple. Something that we feel that we accomplished. The calculator is extremely simple to use and wrapped in a beautiful package.
When the client first approached us, they had a very tight budget. It was very important that we find a way to provide a fully functional beautiful application but yet still keep costs down. How did we accomplish this, by providing mockups to our clients, ensuring that the application was beautiful before we even began development.
Symple Tasks Case Study
iOS App
There’s no shortage of to-do lists on the App Store, there’s no question about that. What we found is that most Todo Lists apps are complicated. Now this is fine if you desire something more than just a todo list app, but when you want an app that helps you to make sure you get stuff down, having the app as simple as possible was extremely important.
Though the app is simple, we did a lot of research to see what helps people to be productive. What we discovered is that when people write down what they want to accomplish for the day, It increases the probability of them completing the tasks. People who write down their goals are 40% more likely to accomplish that goal than others. So this was our focus, make it extremely simple to create a task.
The second discovery is that people have a higher sense of fulfillment when at the end of the day they can look at the tasks that they completed for that day. We incorporated this by keeping tasks that were completed on the same day they were created in the app until the following day, that way a user can look back at what they accomplished for the day with satisfaction. By implementing this functionality we not only created an app, but an assistance to overall well-being.
PMU Conference Case Study - iOS and Android App
A company that specializes in PMU Conferences puts on yearly conferences in the Las Vegas area with attendees ranging between 200-300. With so many attendees it was necessary to create some sort of technology that would allow them to manage/streamline their ticketing and attendance needs. Previously they had been using Eventbrite for the ticketing aspect, but the 2.5% Eventbrite fee was amounting to an unjustified costs as ticket sales increased. In order to overcome this we built them an easy ticketing system, that allowed them to save $35,000 in fees for one conference, and allowed them to increase ticket sales by 26%.
To help manage the attendees, we created an iOS and Android application that gave them valuable information about the conference itself, as well as recommendations for places in the area to entertain themselves, and we created a question moderation section allowing people to ask questions using the app from the comfort of their seat.
The app also supported the advertising of vendor merchandise using an extremely simple way of adding vendors real-time. Using this feature we were able to add vendors within a few minutes.
HappSnap Case Study - iOS, Web, and Android App
This company had an idea. Allow people to view events going on around you real-time. But how would this idea be executed? How do you allow people to create events in a simple way? How do you allow people to view and share events in a simple and intuitive way? These were the first questions that we asked ourselves. One thing that’s very important to remember is that an idea in itself means nothing, it’s execution, that’s where the success comes from. You must ask yourself questions like above and figure out a way to answer them in a way that everyone will understand. And that’s what we did.
We looked at a lot of the apps that already existed that allowed users to create events or posts and deciphered which ones were successful and which ones fell short. Once we had discovered what was necessary and what was not, we immediately went into wireframes and mockups. Once the client had approved of the wireframes and mockups we built the application and got people starting to use it immediately. After extensive testing, making sure that the app was stable, we released it.
One of the responses that we received was they felt the app was gorgeous. We spent a lot of time meticulously designing every single feature of the app, from the smallest button, to the largest screens. We wanted to make sure that everything was perfect, and people really appreciated just how beautiful it was.
The Rise and Fall of Dawud Case Study
iOS App
TRAFOD is a fun video game made for people of all ages. It plays as a 2D side scroller with beautiful graphics and great music. Our goal with this game was to give people an immersive experience where they felt like they were playing a book. We created it as a puzzle game where you as a boy have to traverse your way through traps within a forest by manipulating physics to change the world around you.
We decided to use Swift’s built in physics engine, but we quickly realized that we would have to make a few tweaks in order to get things working properly. The physics of the game was very important for us since the purpose of the game is to manipulate the physics of the world around you to in order to solve puzzles. So much care and attention was necessary in order to get things working just right.
Another important aspect was the necessity to keep the memory and energy usage of the game to a minimum. We didn’t want the game to drain people’s batteries quickly when playing.
SSWR Inspection App - iOS Enterprise App
Silver State Wire Rope and Rigging had an issue. Their company each year has to do inspections of various cranes throughout the valley, and at some times throughout their year they would be overwhelmingly busy with crane inspections. Every single crane inspection had a form that had to be filled out, signed, entered into their system, and finally sent to the owner. This meant thousands of forms that were being filled out every year and a job position dedicated to the sole purpose of inputting forms into their system.
When they contacted us, all they knew is that they wanted to move from paper over to digital, but they had no idea exactly how they wanted to accomplish this as it needed to be simple enough for people with very limited computer backgrounds to get using it quickly, which is always tricky.
First we looked at all the forms and we spoke with the employees who would be using the application and asked them what would make things easiest for them. After these conversations we decided on a system that everyone felt would make it easy to fill out forms using iPads while not detracting from the work of the actual inspection which sometimes had to be done very quickly.
By the end, the application involved the following features:
- Fill out a custom Inspection Form
- Turn the form into a PDF
- Sign the PDF
- If they passed, send a certificate to the company getting the inspection.
After we created the application for them they were able to move their employee from the task of entering forms to another position within the company, eliminating the data entry position all together.
This company has been so pleased with our work, and we continued working together for years.
